Durgin Park Indian Pudding
Notes: Durgin Park is a famous restaurant located in the North East of the US.
Ingredients: 1 C. yellow granulated corn meal 1/2 C. black molasses 1/4 C. granulated sugar 1/4 C. lard or butter 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 1/1/2 quarts hot milk
Preparation: Mix all ingredients thoroughly with one-half the hot milk and bake in a hot oven until it boils. Then stir in remaining half hot milk and bake in a slow oven for five to seven hours. Bake in a stone crock, well greased inside. |
